When monitoring for movement the only way to be safe is to be sure, and the only way to be sure is to use the Ealey Digital Tape Extensometer. While some laser and electronic measuring systems claim accuracies of less than a millimeter, the digital extensometer is the only instrument that will provide tenth of a millimetre accuracy under everyday site conditions, with this kind of accuracy being easily obtainable.
Because the digital extensometer monitors for movement by hooking into eye bolts secured to the tunnel or structure being monitored, it always measures from the same point and, thanks to the unique tension sensor, it always applies the same tension to the tape to ensure the best possible accuracy.
By utilising those same eye bolts to attach a levelling staff or EDM target, it is possible to make the the digital extensometer part of a larger monitoring system which will provide data on lateral, longitudinal and vertical movements.
The Ealey Digital Tape Extensometer has been specifically designed to be user friendly as well as accurate, the simple fold away winding handle enables the tape to be tensioned quickly and easily without the awkward arm movements the knorled nut systems on other instruments require. The tensioning of the tape is as simple as anyone could ask for. When the correct tension is reached, a green light switches on, if too much tension is applied, the green light goes out and is replaced by a red light. Even though the unique tension sensor is electronically operated it is fully automatic and does not need to be switched on or off. Each instrument comes in it's own sturdy carrying case.
This instrument has been designed by highly experienced users of tunnel monitoring equipment who know just what is needed from both the instrument and the after sales service.
